I went into medicine to help people. I started working as an employee in a healthcare system, bright-eyed and bushy tailed. Who knew that creating a name and brand would be so hard? I was thinking of names and wanted something that meant something to me. I was still working my job, when one of my dear patients (who is probably reading this and knows who she is), came in. Ever since we met she has called me “The Gold Standard”. She would exclaim it for all to hear that, “my doctor, Doctor Walker, is the gold standard”! Her excitement to see me and her choice to pour her love and gratitude out over me would always fill my cup. The Gold Standard name woke up my spirit and moved me.
